Our Colours is produced and managed by the NSW Anti-Homophobia Interagency (AHI). This site helps support the AHI’s goal to affirm diversity and address prejudice related to sex, gender and sexuality in education environments, with a focus on secondary and primary schools.
The AHI recognises that NSW school communities (students, teachers, parents and families) require easy access to high quality and up to date information and resources relating to LGBTIQ young people. Our Colours offers this.
Our Colours includes practical, relevant, contemporary and best practice LGBTIQ resources and information to NSW school communities. Our Colours also recognises the work that many services and organisations already do in this area and where possible we provide links to and information about them. Our Colours aims to present the best Australian information and resources available. However, some overseas resources are also included where relevant or necessary. All information and materials on this site have been assessed by the AHI before being included.
At Our Colours you will find:
- resources, information and support for LGBTIQ, same sex attracted and gender questioning young people,
- resources, information and support for parents and families, and
- resources, information and support for teachers including good practice approaches in working with, understanding and supporting young people.
If you can’t find what you are looking for here, please contact us and we’ll try to help you.
We hope you enjoy Our Colours.
